Eco Fur and Possums in New Zealand

We have been selling possum wool clothing and accessories for over 10 years. Possums are the number one ecological threat to our native forests and the animal life that lives there. We believe in the "market solution" to the problem of 70 million possums which eat through 21 million tonnes of vege-tation each night and threaten native birds survival.  We are against the state sponsored 1080 poison program.

Preservation of New Zealand's Native Forests requires control of the possum population. All controls used in the past have had minimum impact. Poisoning of possums is an environmentally unacceptable way of control.

  • We were in New Zealand last December and January, and I nearly bought my Ug boots then but didn’t have enough room in my suitcase to carry them round as we were touring in a campervan for 4 weeks. We looked every part of New Zealand we visited in both the north and south islands and your calendar will be a lovely reminder next year when we have it on the wall.

THey were fully tested in December when I spent the night at the Ice Hotel in Sweden with temperature inside of -5 Celsius and outside of -34. I slept the night in silk long johns (supplied by you) and the possum hat (and the Ice Hotel supplied sleeping bag) and was a warm as toast. As for the gloves, hat and scarf - they never left me as we spent time outside during the day going snow-mobiling, husky sleding, reindeer sledging and other winter sports in temperatures that were down to -60 Celsius at one point with the wind-chill factor! And on my return to the UK the gloves were 'stolen' from me by my daughter who is at uinversity in the North of England!" DK
